Prayer Ministry at Goshen Covenant Church
By Mary Anne Settlemire, Intercessory Prayer Leader
“Prayer is essentially a partnership of the redeemed child of God working hand in
hand with God toward the realization of His redemptive purposes on earth.”
-Jack Hayford
This quote from Pastor Jack Hayford is one of my favorites because it emphasizes the amazing partnership we have with our Heavenly Father through prayer. We are all called to stand in the gap and pray. At Goshen Covenant Church we see our times of corporate and personal prayer as opportunities to first of all, listen to our Heavenly Father and hear what is on His heart. Then through prayer, we release those things in this natural world. It is actually releasing God’s will into the lives of people, places, and situations! We believe an essential key is to ask the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us into all truth. Prayer is a two-way communication.
What an amazing privilege! What an amazing responsibility!
A typical corporate prayer gathering also includes times of worship and times of teaching on prayer.
We have even been directed to get in our vehicles and pray as we go. We call this “Drive-by Prayer.”
We are so excited to learn God’s creative ways as He teaches us to hit the target in prayer!
Come and join us as we partner together!!!!!!!!
Corporate prayer meets each Wednesday @ 6:30 PM at our church building.
If you are new, please call or email us in advance to confirm location, as it sometimes changes.
We also gather for prayer at the front of the sanctuary on
Sunday mornings from 9:15-9:30 AM,
followed by a time of worship in preparation for the service.
“ Prayer pulls the rope down below and the great bell rings above in the ears of God.
Some scarcely stir the bell for they pray so languidly; others give only an
occasional jerk at the rope. But he who communicates with Heaven is the man
who grabs the rope boldly and pulls continuously with all his might.”
-Charles Haddon Spurgeon
