Core Beliefs
1. AUTHORITY OF THE BIBLE:
The Bible is the Word of God and has the right to command our belief and action. (2 Tim 3:16-17)
2. GOD AS EXPRESSED IN THE TRINITY:
The God of the Bible is expressed in the three persons of the trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matt 28:19)
3. SIN:
That all humanity has inherited a sinful nature that separates us from God and leads to death. (Rom 3:23 & 6:23)
4. SALVATION:
A person is restored to a right relationship with God by His grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. (Eph 2:8-9)
5. ETERNITY:
There is a heaven and a hell and that Jesus Christ is returning to judge the earth and to establish His eternal kingdom. (John 14:1-3)
6. PURPOSE:
That God's commission to all believers is the spread of God's kingdom through committed discipleship. (Matt 28:19-20)
7. THE CHURCH:
God's primary way to accomplish His purposes in our lives and in the world today
is through the Church expressed in local communities of fellow believers. (Acts 2:42-47 & Eph 4:15-16)
8. OUR SPIRITUAL WALK:
Our spiritual walk consists of. . .
Praise for who He is and what He's done (Ps 95:1-7)
Prayers to know Him, to bring requests before Him, and to find direction (Matt 6:5-13)
Profession of HIs living truth as a result of regular time in His Word (Heb 4:12)
9. THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT:
God's Holy Spirit is actively transforming our lives through the gifts and fruits of the Spirit. (I Cor 12:4-7 & Gal 5:22-23)
10. STEWARDSHIP:
That all we are and own belongs to God, and that as stewards thereof,
we give of our time, our money, our faith, and our lives to fulfill God's purposes. (I Tim 6:17-19)
